Target Zoofari Days

You’ll get a hot deal on a summer adventure during Target Zoofari Days. Wrap up the summer vacation with FREE admission for children and HALF-PRICE tickets for ages 12 and up. We’ll have free Target bag giveaways while supplies last. Discover multiple “cool zones” throughout the park. Enjoy an expanded schedule of keeper talks and learn how our zookeepers “target” train the animals. There will be bounce houses, crafts, and a community mural. Watch for more details on this wild event.

The kick-off event on Saturday, Aug. 14 will also feature the Zoo’s education animals, crafts activities, and other special surprises.  Join in the fun, thanks to our friends at Target!

Members have the Zoo to themselves this evening. Watch the animals get ready for bed and enjoy the cooler temperatures as the sun sets.

Twilight Safari

What goes on after the lights go out at the Zoo? Come see for yourself at the Dallas Zoo Twilight Safaris! Join us as we show you the fascinating world of animals through activities, special talks, and tours of the Zoo at night. Group Twilight Safaris are offered during the late summer and fall each year to groups of 4 to 40, ages 7-10 or 11-13. Your Twilight Safari will include an after-hours tour of ZooNorth and an opportunity to see some of our Education animals up-close. We require one adult chaperone per four participants. Launch Party for
"The Cat In The Hat Knows A Lot About That!”

Monday, September 6
10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The first-ever Seuss-inspired animated preschool series supporting science literacy debuts on PBS KIDS. Watch screenings of the premier episode at the Dallas Zoo and get your picture taken with the Cat in the Hat. Kids can participate in a scavenger hunt and enter a contest to win the Cat in the Hat Learning Library book series.

Lights Out at the Dallas Zoo – Group Overnight Experience

Friday, September 10, and Saturday, September 11
7 p.m. through 10:30 a.m. the next morning

Discover the nocturnal side of the Dallas Zoo with an Overnight experience for your group. Learn about the fascinating world of animals through activities, special talks, and tours of the Zoo at night. Designed for children age 7 to 13, Overnight groups may vary in size from 15 to 75. Overnights are not exclusive to your group and we may book multiple groups in one night. Overnights require one chaperone per four participants. The event will include:

  • An after-hours tour of ZooNorth.
  • A late night snack (eat dinner before you come) and a continental breakfast.
  • Up close encounters with some of our Education animals.
  • An official Dallas Zoo "Lights Out" overnight patch for each youth participant.
  • A morning Monorail Safari ride (weather dependent, first train leaves the station at 9:30am).
  • Entrance to the Zoo the following day for all participants and chaperones.

WFAA’s Family First Day /World Animal Day

Saturday, September 18

The whole family will receive half-price admission for WFAA’s Family First Day/World Animal Day. You will enjoy a day full of activities for World Animal Day and National Geographic. Get tips on taking great photos from Dr. Bug, the Indiana Jones of Entomology and a National Geographic photographer. There will be crafts, animal trivia contests, screenings of National Geographic cartoons, a reading corner, and other ways to celebrate this special day.

Science Day at the Dallas Zoo
sponsored by ExxonMobil

Saturday, October 9
10 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Teachers and families will have fun with science as they participate in a variety of age-appropriate, hands-on activities. The festival-style event will feature booths sponsored by the Dallas Zoo and several community organizations. In addition to the activities for families, teachers and home school parents will receive four CPE hours and TEEAC credit in addition to a curriculum guide. This event is free for pre-registered teachers only; registration forms and more information can be found at www.DallasZooEd.com.  Teachers who are not pre-registered must pay regular admission and parking fees; however, they will still receive CPE hours, TEEAC credit, and the curriculum guide.

Zoo To Do

Hosts Ellen and Don Winspear invite you to join us “Under the Serengeti Sky” for the biggest party of the year. This special evening for adults is a true grazing event with delicious food provided by the top restaurants and chefs in town. There will be music, dancing, entertainment, and silent and live auctions to raise funds to support the Zoo. Tickets begin at $350 per person. Advance reservations are required. Alzheimer’s Association Memory Walk

Sponsored by the Dallas Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association, Memory Walk is a great opportunity to participate in the movement to end Alzheimer's disease. The route through the Zoo is less than three miles and is wheelchair/stroller accessible. There will be entertainment and activities for kids and kids-at-heart. Dollar Day at the Dallas Zoo presented by MetroPCS

Tuesday, November 23
9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Thanks to our friends at Metro PCS, the Dallas Zoo is offering $1 admission all day. Look for dollar deals on food and gifts throughout the park.
